The sun in all her brilliance

by Brinly Teeple

dulls everything she touches

as if she gains her radiance from her surroundings

Her golden rays leap from the sky

falling over all coating everything in a thick layer of honey

She collects the brightness of all objects

soaking it up like butter on toast

She may seem selfish

but little does the world know

She actually steals the brightness for her lover,

The Moon

The sun projects the brilliance she steals onto the moon

making her shine even brighter than her

The moon then returns the brilliance to the earth in the form of

Her milky glow which lights up the night

giving brilliance back to the darkness
